Job Information
A Technical Illustrator is responsible for generation and maintenance of decals and parts manuals including document layouts/formats, 2D and 3D part/system drawings, parts listings, applicable schematics, other technical/product information as required. Technical Illustrators are also accountable for parts listing accuracy with regard to Engineering BOMs, and compliance with internal and external standards.
Role & Responsibility
Graphically present all parts of each product for customer interpretation. Accurately reflect the equipment and its parts content within manuals. Keep illustrations current for assigned products. Design decals as required for new and updated products. Maintain BOM for each products literature requirements. Design, develop and release all illustrator materials within the engineering change (EC) process. Maintain competence in software utilized to develop and publish all materials. Coordinate with engineering, designers and others as necessary to develop and maintain illustrations.
Job Requirement
- Engineering-General, Associates Degree, allow equivalent.
- Familiar with Arbortext or other publishing software and demonstrates basic skills.
- Familiar with the following software: CADD, Corel and/or Adobe Illustrator. General PC skills, Excel, Oracle, Power Point.
- 2>5 years experience
- Travel, <10%

Requires some guidance to interpret BOM's and schematics from engineering in order to put into user-friendly format for customer use.
Familiar with sequence of builds to graphically represent parts that are described on word drawings
- i.e. Be able to illustrate a part when no dimensions are provided.
