Frontier Networking is looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to manage development of our Outposts, Wavelength, and Local Zones products. As Frontier Networking is just getting started, you have an opportunity to serve as product owner for a portfolio of projects that allow us to extend one of the largest networks on the planet to the customer edge. A successful candidate is one who relishes the chance to bring ownership and vision to an emerging opportunity. Deep expertise managing a complex and fast-moving team is a must. As the program manager responsible for driving these initiatives, you will interact with multiple teams in hardware, software and networking. You will work directly with teams of highly motivated engineers that thrive on solving challenging problems with innovative solutions. This role bridges network engineering, automation, and operations disciplines to solve the problems of building edge computing solutions.
Key job responsibilities
As a technical program manager, you will have the autonomy, ownership, and responsibility to define and execute on complex programs on behalf of customers and to deliver new features and solutions that meet their rapidly expanding needs. You will roll up your sleeves and work directly with your engineering teams to help build and operate the features and services that you have defined. You will create and track metrics to define the success of your features and build data-based cases for your decisions. Successful program managers are leaders who move fast, have an unrelenting tenacity to get things done, and are capable of breaking down complex problems and making data-driven decisions that best serve customers.
- Demonstrated ability to managed project/task prioritization, procurement, project planning and schedule development, with strong attention to detail
- Proven success of influencing and developing productive working relationships with resources and internal or external customers
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- 5+ years of project management experience
- Prior experience managing networking product lines or open source projects
- Entrepreneurial spirit, with track record for defining and delivering results in fast-moving and demanding environments
- Tracking and mitigating risks on multiple large scale projects simultaneously
- Experience in putting processes, mechanisms and metrics in-place to execute multi-discipline and multiple organization wide programs
- Strong leadership qualities such as critical thinking, commitment to high standards, and ability to dive deep while remaining in touch with business details
