The manufacturing business is supported by our Technical Services group. This group is made up of Scientists and Engineers who enjoy applying their education and skills to roles centred on the provision of scientific and technical support to manufacturing operations. We are continually seeking to hire Scientists at all levels, as well as experienced leaders, for interesting and varied roles in our Technical Services organisation such as Process Excellence Lead & Technical Services Specialist.
Roles in this function will typically involve investigations, troubleshooting, technology transfer and scale-up, validation, providing technical and scientific support to our manufacturing operations, all underpinned by a strong continuous improvement mindset. In Technical Services positions, you will also engage with global manufacturing, quality, regulatory affairs and supply chain experts to ensure supply continuity for several our high-profile products.
About the Roles;
The Process Excellence Lead will have the following duties;
- The successful candidate will be fully self-directed and will act as a coach to Technical Services Specialists and to the Process Centred Team working in the manufacturing area.
- They will be recognised as having a high level of knowledge/skill in solid dosage manufacturing.
- They will have demonstrated expertise in Systems and Technology Platforms and will have a demonstrated track record of timely major project completion.
- They will provide technical and product input to process teams for timely issue resolution and root cause analysis as required.
- The successful candidate should be able to identify and implement change the business activities and step change process improvements. They will deliver continuous improvement projects using six sigma and lean methodologies.
- They will identify best practices to support process improvements within the Pfizer network and implement to support process robustness. They will take ownership of Process Robustness at process centred team level, and take accountability for process knowledge management.
The Technical Services Specialist will have the below duties;
- Preparation and execution of protocols and reports. This includes development and validation (process and cleaning).
- Building expertise of products and processes that he/she supports including trending and interpretation of data.
- Execution of continuous improvement projects (six sigma methodology experience would be an advantage).
- Investigating and troubleshooting all routine technical problems during normal activities. Support to commercial manufacturing team and technical transfer projects.
- He/she will adopt a risk-based approach to problem solving, determination of root cause, issue resolution and recommendation.
- They will be aware of new methodologies pertinent to his/her function and is able to introduce them with limited supervisory input. Is accomplished with all fundamental technologies.
- Preparation and updating of appropriate GMP documentation, forms, protocols and procedures.
About you;
- Educated to degree level in Science, Pharmacy or a related discipline
- Significant experience in the Pharmaceutical industry preferably in solid oral dose manufacturing
