In one sentence

As a Senior Technical Writer, it will be your responsibility to ensure the documentation, and help content is updated in line with the new product feature for end-users across the software products that Amdocs/Openet produces.

What will your job look like?

As Senior Technical Writer you will be primarily responsible for documenting user task and procedure requirements while ensuring our user guides are produced and delivered to a high standard for customers of Amdocs/Openet products.
In addition, you will be expected to contribute to the ongoing mission to improve existing documentation.
The key responsibilities for this role are as follows:

• Managing and tracking effort and progress on tasks.
• Writing, reviewing, and editing documentation as required.
• Working with engineers and management to identify areas for improvement in our documentation.
• Ensuring consistent implementation of the style guide.
• Contributing to the team with regards to tools, processes, and methodologies, etc.

Note that this role has the potential to take a team lead position. This will provide good opportunities to both grow the team while also enabling you to design and implement improvements on methodologies, tools, and the user experience.

All you need is...

• Proven experience Technical Writing in a software development environment, Telecom background preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical, creative, capable of acting on initiative.
• Degree educated to at least BA level
• Spoken and written English to first language level

The following would also be an advantage:

• Knowledge of source control environments such as Git/Bitbucket.
• Experience working with Agile Software development.
• Knowledge of Confluence and Jira.
• Knowledge of DITA or XML based documentation
