Key Role:

Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents, including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation. Write and edit technical documentation for all the project's hardware and software, including installation, configuration, and how-to documentation. Create code documentation for software and produce implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities. Provide field, data definition, and data flow documentation and format technical publications from pamphlets, technical drawings, and consultations with technical personnel and other available resources. Provide overall leadership of the technical writing tasks and serve as primary liaison to the government for supporting contract coordination and task execution.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents, including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation

  • Ability to write and edit technical documentation for all the project’s hardware and software, including installation, configuration, and how-to documentation

  • Ability to create code documentation for software, produce implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities, and provide field, data definition, and data flow documentation and formats technical publications from pamphlets, technical drawings, and consultations, with technical personnel and other available resources

  • Ability to provide overall leadership of the Travel and Expense (T&E) tasks and serve as primary liaison to the government for supporting contract coordination and task execution

  • Ability to manage T&E resources and tasks, and ensure quality assurance of test processes and products

  • Ability to coordinate and integrate T&E tasks and products

  • Ability to participate in T&E Integrated Test Teams as needed to ensure proper coordination of T&E activities

  • Ability to communicate issues and solutions to the broader government and contract management structure as requested by leadership

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

  • HS diploma or GED and 12+ years of experience with technical writing, Associate's degree and 10+ years of experience with technical writing, Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience with technical writing, Master's degree and 6+ years of experience with technical writing, or Doctorate degree and 4+ years of experience with technical writing

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to drive innovation and responsiveness to program changes and evolving T&E status to help manage program risk, develop alternative courses of action, work-around, and fallback positions with a recommended course of action for each risk, and monitor and re-evaluate risks at appropriate milestones

  • Ability to ensure the appropriate level of independence of the team from the solution provider to support government management of objectivity risk

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $65,300.00 to $149,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
