TEMPORARY DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

Al Otro Lado is seeking to hire a Temporary Development Coordinator from May 2023-October 2023. The Temp. Development Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and supporting fundraising and relationship building for the organization. They will support in engagement with donors and other stakeholders, and create strong ties to the business and funding communities.

DONOR RELATIONS

  • Support implementation of annual fundraising plans and strategies.
  • Maintain donor databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Track monthly progress towards fundraising goals.
  • Conduct research on prospective donors, sponsors and grant opportunities.
  • Manage organization expressions of donor gratitude including email, phone calls, video thank-yous and steady monthly acknowledgements for monthly donors
  • Assist with budget tracking and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to develop newsletters/ e-updates to donors, funders and other stakeholders.
  • Serve as Al Otro Lado’s liaison for events and fundraisers, and coordinate speaking engagements.
  • Coordinate messaging, talking points/ visuals for use in campaigns and donor acknowledgement with Communications Manager. Maintain donor communications calendar in coordination with social media calendar.
  • Write and distribute Donor Outreach materials and Network For Good copy in coordination with the Leadership Team.
  • Support AOL in creating a fundraising oriented culture.

PROGRAM COLLABORATION

  • Support in the collection of monthly program statistics in coordination with program directors and draft communications on program successes with donors and stakeholders, as needed.
  • Collaborate with finance department and provide information on donations as needed

OTHER DUTIES

  • Work with Directors and accounting staff to identify budget holes, funding priorities and strategies.
  • Monitor various websites/list serves to track upcoming grant or funding opportunities.
  • Participate in provider/ donor network meetings to stay abreast of potential funding or collaborative opportunities.
  • Manage the development@alotrolado.orginbox and respond to or direct emails to appropriate colleagues.
  • Coordinate training and professional development opportunities for fundraising staff

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3 years experience in non-profit fundraising and/or development
  • Strong understanding of organizational goals and forward-thinking processes
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with partner organizations, stakeholders and individual donors
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Self-directed and self-reliant, highly organized with strong attention to detail, flexible, innovative, able to quickly adapt to changing program needs, and able to work in a fast-paced setting with limited resources
  • Adept at learning to use new technology platforms, as well as experience with and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and in Google Suites programs such as Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Calendar, Google Forms, and Zoom
  • Respectful of colleagues in a diverse workplace environment

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $30/hr. paid out in alignment with the organization's bi-weekly payroll schedule.
