About the role:

Your primary responsibility will be to support the development and testing of crop protection products in the field. Some of the tasks will be performed at our Langmuir laboratory located on Brown Rd, while field applications will be made at the Cornell University Homer C. Thompson Research Farm in Freeville NY. You will be working under the direct supervision of the Crop Protection Lead. Preference will be given to those with previous relevant field/industry experience.

Responsibilities

● Assist with application of crop protection products in the field and laboratory as required

● Calibrate and utilize hand-held spray-equipment for product applications

● Assist with planting and maintenance of crops in the greenhouse and field

About you:

● Previous experience with small plot trial field research

● Must have a driver’s license and a pesticide applicator’s license

● Technically curious and able to learn new technology and processes

● Good laboratory practices (safety, results recording, and writing/communication skills)

● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

● Proficient with Microsoft applications

Work Schedule

● Standard business operating schedule: M-F, 9am-5pm: salary based on experience

● Start date: ASAP 2023; 6 month position

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
