About the role

FIS provides a leading in-house payment management platform (SaaS - Software as a Service) that serves high-volume merchants such as Netflix, Overstock.com, GoDaddy, and many more. As a Software Test Analyst II, your skills will be at the core of changing the way the world pays, banks, and invests. You’ll plan and manage application testing and client delivery activities that range from small, simple software applications to components of large, complex software applications.

We consistently develop and deliver new features onto our live platform. The platform handles millions of merchant transactions around the clock, while delivering a robust feature set aimed at boosting our merchant’s payments capabilities. These features, along with our ability to consistently deliver, make us stand out in the highly competitive payments business. Future platform development work utilizes microservices, cloud-based architecture with best of breed technologies to promote easier scaling and maintenance. The development environment aims to continually improve as new technologies are considered for the purpose of gains made in efficiency or effectiveness. Service codebases rely on a large suite of automated tests to help find defects early in the life cycle. Software development teams have true ownership of the services as they build, release, and operate.

What you will be doing

  • Understand and test software for scalability, reliability, and data recovery associated with a high-volume, high-availability platform
  • Collaborate with other internal teams (Product, Platform, Merchant Services and Support) to convert business requirements into test automation
  • Support the deployment of new features into production with zero platform downtime and no impact to end customers who are currently processing
  • Work in a "team focused" culture, where strong collaboration and communication are critical
  • Work on a core project team alongside software engineers to ensure that quality is built in from the start
  • Build domain expertise in e-commerce payments and apply your engineering expertise to testing new product features
  • Craft and execute automated regression tests for SaaS platform and UI based features
  • Ability to work in an agile development environment where developers and testing personnel work closely together to ensure requirements are met or exceeded

What you bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science or other related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant on the job experience in Software QA Engineering, not including internships.
  • Ability to quickly grasp high-level business goals, derive requirements, and translate them into effective technical solutions
  • Ability to fluidly change context and priorities based on changing business needs
  • Ability to quickly grasp high level business goals, derive requirements, and create effective testing strategies
  • Experience with Java
  • Experience with basic SQL, JSON, and XML
  • Experience with automated testing methodologies for SaaS platforms and data driven systems required
  • Experience with automated UI regression testing tools
  • You're self-motivated with a can-do attitude; others would describe you as dedicated, energetic, curious, conscientious, humble, and flexible

  • Selenium experience
  • Agile software development lifecycle experience
  • Linux/Unix/scripting (e.g. Perl, Python) experience
  • Eclipse or IntelliJ experience
  • Testing framework (e.g. Karate, Cucumber) experience
