DSHS TIA IT Test Analyst
The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) and the Technology Innovation Administration (TIA) are looking for a Test Analyst to develop, execute, evaluate, and document system and user acceptance test plans on behalf of stakeholders and customers statewide.
Supporting our Division of Child Support (DCS), you’ll apply technical knowledge of mainframe and web databases, graphical user interfaces, systems requirements development and IT project management to plan and execute software, web, and mobile testing and quality assurance for critical DSHS computer systems/applications including the Support Enforcement Management System (SEMS), SEMSWeb, and other associated applications.
Some of What You’ll Do
Independently develop test plans, test conditions and test scripts using system design/requirements documents- Execute test scripts to test specific program functions and/or conducts systems testing of entire application and interfaces
- Evaluate test results from both technical and business perspectives
- Assist in defining business system requirements by providing business knowledge input
- Provide test and functionality documentation to be used for field communications.
Knowledge
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science
AND
Four years of information technology experience such as consulting, analyzing, designing or programming computer software applications; directing projects; providing training or customer support in information technology; or administering or supervising staff who performed work in any of these information technology disciplines.
Additional qualifying experience may be substituted, year for year, for educational requirements.
Concurrently, A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the research and application of federal child support law, Washington child support enforcement policy, and the Support Enforcement Management System.
Or
A minimum of two (2) years of experience with testing methodologies such as
interoperability, black box/white box, system, integration, end-to-end, regression, stress, and performance testing with mainframes, client server applications, or web-based applications and their interaction with downstream systems.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle, particularly software testing and defect tracking.
- Strong written, oral and presentation skills to communicate with diverse stakeholders, division and IT management and staff.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills involving a high degree of originality and independent judgment.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently as a team member, as a team lead/project manager, and to work independently.
