Job Summary: Provides administrative support and facilitation in the conduct of a range of group and individual standardized testing, both automated, manual and online through a centralized testing center environment. Assists with the coordination of scheduling, maintenance, organization, and administration of departmental functions, as needed.
Minimum Required Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Associate’s degree
Minimum Required Experience:
- Two years clerical or administrative support experience
- Preferred: Work experience in secondary or higher education
- Preferred: Work experience testing administration, guidance, training, or advising (as applicable)

Required Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of admissions and registration policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of cashier and general office policies, procedures and practices including filing, keyboard usage, answering the phone, and directing calls to the appropriate resources.
- Working knowledge of the Hill College vision and mission.
Essential Job Functions:
- Performs general administrative support tasks including coordinating appointments, answering the phone and directing calls to the appropriate resource, typing correspondence, filing and maintaining files, ordering and maintaining supplies, maintaining a calendar for daily events, and greeting visitors, faculty, staff and students.
- Performs and assists in projects, services, and activities to assist the assigned department’s specific needs as they relate to the Student Services division of Hill College.
- Assists with the departmental budget, processes purchase requisitions and submits invoices for payment.
- Helps with the recruitment, retention, and success of students by providing prospective and current students with general information, career services and resources within the assigned department.
- Helps students with Pre-Assessment/Assessment and accommodations, as needed or required by the assigned department.
- Enters daily information into Hill College systems for reporting purposes and participates in the compilation of data, logs, reports and forms for the assigned department.
- Provides guidance to students requesting information about Hill College services, aid, accommodations, and other educational tools. Acts as a liaison with other agencies for student referral purposes.
- Assists other departmental administration and staff as needed.
- Provides support in preparation and execution of division activities, such as registration,15 Forward and other events.
- May Perform One or More of the Following:
- Assists with identification, selection, tracking, and data collection of the assigned grant-eligible and/or special population students.
- Serves as test examiner; provides support for testing administration procedures and proctors any and all exams offered through the Testing Center; to include monitoring and assisting examinees with login at their testing stations.
- Follows established Testing Center guidelines in working with students, faculty and staff and notifies supervisor of testing security irregularities or unusual events during testing sessions.
- Responsible for security of test materials and receives and secures passwords from instructors or from correspondence testing instructors, in advance of testing deadlines.
Other Information:
- Must have valid Texas driver’s license.
- Travel to other Hill College locations as needed.
- Serves on institutional committees and workgroups as directed.
- Weekend and evening work required during designated times.
- Security sensitive position.
Physical Requirements:
- Sedentary/Light work; exerting up to 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
