Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the Department Director or designee, the incumbent supervises the entire operations of the campus Testing Center. Monitors, schedules and supervises testing activities including skills assessments, department exams, correspondence, classrooms, distance learning education, Pearson Vue testing, ATI nursing, GED completion exams and work keys exams for general entrance nursing programs, CLEP, DSST and ATI-TEAS. This position requires previous training, experience and specific skills. The incumbent performs work with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Manages, maintains, monitors, and coordinates all testing activities at the La Plata Testing Center.
• Supervises Testing Center Assistants and student assistants.
• Ensures all operations and staff actions adhere to all college and campus policies and procedures.
• Administers the college’s skills assessments, departmental, credit-by-exam, distance education, online, self-paced, and credit-free program testing, as well as other designated tests at the La Plata campus.
• Administers PearsonVue, CLEP, DSST, Castle, Microsoft, ASE, and other national tests in the La Plata Testing Center as a test site for national test vendors.
• Responsible for accurate entry of skill assessment results into the Colleague System.
• Manages the monitoring system of the testing center to ensure that academic integrity. standards are being adhered to as it pertains to testing at all times.
• Disseminates accurate information concerning all Testing Center activities.
• Maintains security of all tests, test records and student files.
• Maintains a tracking system for all Testing Center activities; including Non-CSM proctored tests. Provides required reports (monthly and annually) of testing activities at the La Plata Testing Center.
• Participates in the administration and processing of the college’s local high school assessments and community testing programs.
• Managerial duties involve regular communication with various CSM Departments such as IT, Facilities, Call Center, Advising, Bursar's, Procurement, etc., to ensure that Testing Center needs are met.
• Maintains and updates the Testing Center web page.

Performs other related work as required.

Minimum Education and Training

Internal:

• Associates degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
• One (1) year recent experience as a Testing Center Supervisor I at the College of Southern Maryland
• Experience in directing other's work, ability to work without close supervision, and the ability to multitask and prioritize
• Must be or become trained/certified to administer exams for a variety of national vendors and exam clients

External:

• Associates degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Two (2) years of experience in a college Testing Center, or in test administration at the college or public high school level
• Experience in directing other's work, ability to work without close supervision, and the ability to multitask and prioritize
• Must be or become trained/certified to administer exams for a variety of national vendors and exam clients

Physical Requirements:

The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly
