G.G. Schmitt & Sons, a rapidly growing and leading manufacturer of Stainless Steel and Aluminum original equipment for the boat building industry, has outstanding opportunities available for highly motivated and dedicated entry level and experienced Welders and Fabricators.

As part of the GG Schmitt team, you will have the opportunity to build parts, towers and T-tops for major boat builders in the country and produce the finest quality marine hardware available today.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for quality finish welds on stainless steel products.

• Uses fixtures to ensure minimal weld distortion.

• Installs and welds trim to customer spec.

• Interpret measurements.

• Validates fitment of parts post-welding.

• Operates equipment, including but not limited to grinders, sanders, and/or saws.

• Use squares, levels, and other measuring tools to confirm that all parts are manufactured to specifications.

Job Skills & Qualifications:

• 2 years’ experience in fabricating and welding field preferred, or ability to demonstrate proficiency.

• Proficient in TIG stainless steel.

• Machine and Cutting Tool Experience and Tube and Pipe Bending Knowledge a plus.

• Ability to read blueprints or follow technical specifications/build books.

• Ability to work with hands, lift heavy objects and stand on your feet for long periods of time often doing repetitive motions.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Basic mathematic skills.
