Busy Kids Creche are currently recruiting a Room Leader for their Creche based in Ennis Road, Limerick.

The Position is a Paer Time Permanent position, Monday – Friday.

Role Summary: The Room Leader is dynamic and requires the ability to multi-task with a warm, caring and professional manner. They have a strong work ethic and team spirit. Responsible for implementing, organising and documenting the curriculum through continuous observations, planning and evaluation. Will follow the children’s emerging interests through a play based, educationally appropriate environment that meets the requirements of Aistear and Siolta.

Duties & Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Must have an in-depth practical and theoretical knowledge of Aistear, Siolta, & The Childcare Act (Early Years Service) Regulations 2016.
  • Must plan, design and implement a play based child led curriculum which clearly demonstrates Aistear implemented in the environment.
  • Must document Observations, planning, assessment and learning stories that demonstrate active play.
  • Must ensure that all paperwork including roll books, sign in/out sheets, cleaning sheets, outdoor play sheets, accident reports are completed on a daily basis.
  • Communication must be made to parents regarding their child on a daily basis.
  • Continuous professional development Training or Early Years conferences must be undertaken three times per year.
  • Must familiarise themselves with the Busy Kids Vision, Core Purpose and company Values and ensure that they are adhered to at all times.
  • The room leader must familiarise themselves with Busy Kids policies and procedures and ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • They must have the ability to work as part of a team, an ability to be innovative, a sincere and genuine love of children, must be self-motivated, must have good organisational skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must ensure the curriculum is adhered to at all times throughout the year

Education & Qualifications:

  • Advanced Higher Level 8 Early Childhood Care & Education or equivalent.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Valid Manual Handling
  • Children First

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 1 years post graduate experience
  • Full working knowledge and experience of Dept of Education and Skills inspections
  • Ability to work as part of a team, demonstrate innovation in practice.
  • A passion and a commitment to working with young children
