General Summary of the Position

Maintains and issues the tools used in fabrication and assembly of gas processing plants. Performs light maintenance of facilities as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (following are accountabilities included but not limited to):

• Performs a variety of tasks involving record-keeping, monitoring inventory, evaluating usage and quality of tools.
• Maintains a clean job tool crib; picks up and organizes all tools and equipment and secures tool crib each day to eliminate potential hazards.
• Performs basic repairs on tools and identifies those that need to be taken out of service and replaced.
• Orders equipment and some supplies as needed for regular use in plant.
• Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.

Skills and Abilities:

• Must be able to understand and identify various tools used in fabrication and assembly of gas processing plants.
• Ability to inspect tools and equipment for wear or defects and works with his supervisor [SF1] to order new tools as needed.
• Ability to maintain inventories on consumable materials and parts.
• Must be organized to maintain records of tool crib, issued tools, and monitoring tool inventory.
• Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Intermediate mechanical aptitude needed.
• Basic computer skills are required to transact tools and materials in the system and maintain inventory records.

Education, Training and Experience:

• Any experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.

Work Context

• Regularly works in the tool crib but will be working near moving mechanical parts and potentially in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and other particles.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
• Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
• Noise level is generally loud.
• Excellent stamina is required.
