Must meet qualifications established by CLIA for General Supervisor: CFR Subpart M §493.1449.

Experience in Toxicology testing (Required)

Relevant Work Experience:

Laboratory Experience: >4 year (Required)

Minimum of (4) years’ experience in toxicology testing using LC/MSMS (Agilent) and immunoassay screening instruments (Required)

Minimum of (2) years of lead and/or supervisory experience (Preferred)

Method Development and method validation (Laboratory Developed Tests (LDT)) (Preferred)

Position Overview

The General Supervisor (TS) will be responsible for daily technical and operational oversight of the toxicology laboratory. Directs the clinical testing and method validation workflows in the laboratory. Responds to inquiries from the laboratory director, technical supervisor, analyst and/or clinical/medical laboratory scientists and laboratory assistants. The GS will be responsible for accessioning, processing, and running samples, instrument and method troubleshooting, and is responsible for training laboratory staff. Performs a variety of routine and complex-based diagnostic tests on various specimen types for clinical use, maintaining compliance with all regulatory agency requirements.

Essential Job Functions

Start-up and set up a high-complexity testing high volume Toxicology laboratory to include SOPs, method validation of LDT, method verification of FDA approved methods

Operates The Toxicology laboratory section under the Laboratory Director and Manages the laboratory testing personnel

Provides effective and efficient administrative direction of the laboratory.

Ensures laboratory is compliant with company, state, and federal regulatory requirements (CAP, COLA, CLIA, etc)

Executes the quality management system (QMS), management of adverse outcomes and non-conformity, participation in the self-survey and onsite survey, appropriate management of the results of the on-site survey and performance in proficiency testing.

Engages in continuous process and service improvement and evaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendations based on thorough evaluation of technical, quality and efficiency impact

Provide technical troubleshooting and decision making.

Ensures QC and maintenance of all laboratory equipment

Provide oversight of all aspects of the laboratory’s quality management system to ensure conformance to requirements described in the Quality Management System

Ensure that policies and procedures are established for monitoring staff to assess competency, and whenever necessary, provide remedial training or continuing education to improve skills.

Responsible for training and competency assessment of all testing personnel

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
