Your Responsibilities
This role is a unique opportunity for an individual to make an impact on our company’s long-term objectives by influencing the execution of our enterprise strategy and ensure that Choice delivers on its vision. The position is well-suited for an ambitious early-career professional who is excited for the opportunity to impact change, work alongside senior leadership, and quickly learn the value drivers of our business. The Manager will have the following responsibilities, primarily related to our long-term mission around guests and franchisee value proposition and platform growth:
1) Strategy Execution and Reporting – In partnership with the Strategy and Transformation leadership team, the Manager will assist in the scoping and definition of several enterprise-wide strategic transformation initiatives. Once launched, the Manager will help these initiatives succeed by managing project workstreams, analyzing processes, developing data-driven insights, and reporting on progress. The manager will identify risks and dependencies, and guide leadership in solving for roadblocks by creating materials to drive decision-making and alignment. The Manager will perform analytical and problem-solving work where needed on these initiatives to provide insights to the initiative teams and keep the momentum going. The manager will ensure the ongoing success of our initiatives by identifying the specific indicators and targets we can use to measure our results and achievements of milestones.
2) Strategy Communication, Alignment, and Planning – The Manager will develop new approaches to ensure alignment behind our strategy across the company, working with subject matter experts, finance, human resources and IT teams to ensure that everything we do is aimed at a common goal. The Manager will help prioritize transformation initiatives to execute our strategy, develop objective ways to measure progress – ensuring a focus on indicators that support our long-term goals – and will summarize the story behind the numbers.
Your Experience, Skills & Competencies
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience required. Master’s degree in related field preferred.
  • At least 4 years of experience in consulting, strategic planning, business analytics, or corporate strategy, with project management familiarity; exposure to business process design, value mapping, operational modeling, or data analytics will also be valued.
  • Results-oriented with strong project management skills, sense of urgency, demonstrated flexibility and ability to manage cross functional team initiatives, handle multiple priorities and keep projects on track.
  • Strategic-thinker with the ability to perform both detailed and high-level analyses, and to think about big-picture impacts of strategic decisions while knowing when to insist on precision of data. Can leverage both financial and business analysis to solve through tough, complex, and ambiguous problems.
  • Organizational Savvy and Situational Adaptability with willingness and ability to build organization alignment, establish trust and influence organizational changes through consultative approach.
  • Executive Presence and Communication with the ability to message effectively across various audiences.
  • Formal continuous improvement training (e.g., Six Sigma or similar) a plus
Your Team
This is an individual contributor role that will report to the Senior Manager, Strategy and Transformation and collaborate with cross-functional departments on a regular basis.
Your Work Location
As our Strategy and Transformation Manager, you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art worldwide corporate headquarters in Rockville, MD. Less than 15 miles from Washington, DC, we’re located directly across from the Rockville Metro station, with service on the Red Line and the MARC Brunswick line, easy access to I-270, and plenty of free parking provided by Choice Hotels.
Right now, our associates in Rockville, MD are working in a hybrid environment, up to 4 days per week in the office and virtual from your home office the remaining days. We provide flexibility and encourage ongoing communication with your leadership to establish expectations about your unique needs.
