The County of Riverside’s Transportation Department is recruiting for a Warehouse Worker ll in the Riverside Transportation Warehouse.

The selected candidate will under general supervision, obtain, store, and issues parts and supplies for the maintenance of a large fleet of heavy trucks, and road construction and maintenance equipment and materials. The incumbent will also be tasked with purchase orders, contacting vendors, and performs other related duties as required.

The Department desires candidates who have experience in using Computer Inventory Systems (Asset Works or similar), inventory control, operating a forklift, and/or experience in a warehouse setting that primarily dealt with medium/heavy duty equipment, and automotive parts.

This is the journey level class in the Transportation Warehouse Worker series reporting to the Transportation Warehouse Supervisor. This class is distinguished from the Transportation Warehouse Supervisor in that the latter class is responsible for the overall operation of the warehouse. The work of individuals assigned to this class is distinguished from the class of Storekeeper by the fact that they work with a variety of highly specialized large trucks and road construction equipment parts and supplies, which requires identification of parts from a variety of makes and models of equipment and knowledge of sources for parts. In addition, the class of Transportation Warehouse Worker II may serve in a lead capacity over subordinate staff.
