Job Title: CDL Driver - Sheetrock Delivery (Amarillo, Tx)

Location: Amarillo, Tx

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $16-$19/hour + square footage for job

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 5:00 pm

Job Description:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced CDL Driver to join our team in Amarillo, Tx. As a CDL Driver, you will be responsible for transporting sheetrock materials to various construction sites throughout Amarillo and ensuring timely and safe deliveries. This position requires a valid CDL license, as well as compliance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Responsibilities:

Safely and efficiently transport sheetrock materials to construction sites in and around Amarillo.

Load and unload sheetrock materials using appropriate equipment and techniques.

Plan delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient transportation.

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with DOT regulations.

Complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery logs, mileage records, and other relevant documentation.

Run clearinghouse, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), and DOT Drug Testing (DT) checks as required.

Wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while on the job.

Maintain a clean and organized truck, ensuring that it is properly stocked with necessary tools and supplies.

Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.

Participate in training programs as required, including a comprehensive onboarding session prior to driving.

Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while operating the vehicle.

Report any accidents, incidents, or vehicle issues to the appropriate supervisor or manager immediately.

Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times, representing the company in a positive manner.

Qualifications:

Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with appropriate endorsements for operating a commercial vehicle.

Clear understanding and knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance.

Experience driving commercial vehicles, preferably with previous delivery experience.

Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers and co-workers.

Excellent driving record with no major violations or accidents in the past three years.

Ability to safely operate and maneuver large vehicles in various weather and road conditions.

Proficient in reading maps and using GPS systems for navigation.

Familiarity with Amarillo and the surrounding areas is a plus.

Must have a valid DOT medical card.

Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading sheetrock.

Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.

Reliability and punctuality are essential.

Must pass drug and alcohol screenings as required by DOT regulations.
