Job Title: Upper School History TeacherFLSA Classification: ExemptResponsible to: Head of History Department and Head of Upper SchoolLast Revised: April 2023Position Summary: The Haverford School is seeking an Upper School History teacher. Preferred candidates will have at least two years of teaching experience. He or she is a happy, enthusiastic individual who has demonstrated a passion for history and for teaching that builds interest in, enthusiasm for, and mastery of that subject. Finally, the candidate will have the capacity to contribute to the life of the School in co-curricular areas, especially coaching and advising students.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTeach four of sections of history: Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers.Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.Maintain regularly scheduled office hours in order to advise and assist studentsParticipate in school evaluation and professional development programsAdvise students on academic and other matters in accordance with the Schools missionCoach an athletic team and advise an extracurricular activity as requiredParticipate in some infrequent evening or weekend activities, including meetings, professional development, or other school activitiesOther duties, as assigned
