Ardmore Roderick is a full-service civil engineering firm providing infrastructure design, construction services and program management to a variety of agencies. Headquartered in Chicago, we have offices in Champaign, IL, Orlando, FL, Philadelphia, PA.

The PMO provides program management, design engineering and construction management services to the Chicago Department of Water Management (CDWM) in Chicago, Illinois. As part of the Program team supporting the CDWM Capital Improvement Program, the PMO manages force account work related to managing impacts of external projects (other City agencies, utilities, developers, etc.) to existing CDWM facilities.

We are currently looking to fill several Design Engineer positions from entry level to experienced team leads.

Engineer I & II

• Engineer with 0-5 years experience on utility design - PE not required.
• Reviews contractor/consultant design plans for impacts to water facilities.
• Develops estimates for construction services.
• Maintains project communication with OUC utility during design review.

Engineer III+

• Engineer with minimum 5-7 years experience on utility design - PE preferred
• Reviews contractor/consultant design plans for impacts to water facilities.
• Develops estimates for construction services.
• Maintains project communication with OUC utility during design review.
• Examine/review proposed plans for impacts to Department of Water Management facilities
• Enforce Department of Water Management standards to maintain separation requirement of water distribution facilities and proposed utilities
• Design and produce construction documents for adjustments of water distribution facilities
• Address DWM - Bureau of Engineering Services requests for information on existing facilities and on projects by other agencies
• Ability to organize project documentation
• Assist with project status tracking in Excel database
• Prepare cost estimates for construction activities
• Coordinate with the CIP Water Main Design and Construction teams

Requirements:

• Required B.S. Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Preferred Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Preferred Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Engineering experience with utility infrastructure work.
• Working knowledge of ArcGIS®.
• Detail-orientation to assure deliverables are of high quality and appropriately enforce applicable City policies and standards.
• Strong organization skills to simultaneously handle several concurrent projects.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet project and task deadlines.
• Required proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Windows, Word, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint and Access.
