Job Description
Under general supervision; performs basic semi-skilled work construction, maintenance, repair of sewers, plus all related structures; operates motorized equipment, drives trucks, cleans and inspects sewers lines; uses hand tools. Performs other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications
Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities listed below.
Completion of a high school equivalent education. Must possess a valid State of Ohio Class A or B, Commercial Drivers License (CDL). Tanker endorsement preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
Basic knowledge of safety practices and procedures*; sewer construction methods*; sewer cleaning methods; operation of power equipment (hole hog, jack hammer, fork lifts, trucks).
Ability to recognize unusual and threatening conditions and take corrective action; recognize safety warnings; cooperate with co-workers on group projects; drive light trucks; demonstrate physical fitness.
Skill in use of sewer maintenance and cleaning equipment; use of basic construction tools; use hand held power/non-power tools.

Description of Job Duty
The duties listed below are intended to depict tasks performed by this classification.
Operates light to medium equipment used in the construction, maintenance, repair and cleaning of sewer lines, hydrants, valves plus their related structures (e.g. drives trucks, assists with setup and takedown of sewer equipment; prepares concrete, grouts, and mortar, operates an air compressor, jack hammer, welding equipment, pumps, and associated equipment, hole hogs, fork lift, etc.); cleans and maintains equipment.
Performs manual tasks associated with the construction, maintenance, repair and cleaning of sewer lines, hydrants, valves plus their related structures (e.g. go loads/unloads materials, digs up manholes, sets sheeting, backfills holes, flumes water, breaks up payments, cuts pipe, sets up barricades, deans inlets and ditches, probes holes for underground cables, service lines; assists with the installation of pipe, valves, valve curb boxes, curb pits, etc.); cleans, stores and secures tools.
