Elizabeth Layton Center is searching for a
Utilization Review Specialist to add to the ELC Team! This is a full-time Monday - Friday position located in
Ottawa, KS. EOE

The
Utilization Review Specialist provides review of clinical records to monitor the delivery of medically necessary services and accuracy of documentation completion, including written feedback of recommendations to staff responsible for the documentation. Reports to Quality Improvement/Risk Management Director and Quality Improvement Coordinator. Provides assistance in additional patient satisfaction assessment and other analytic tasks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Review written and electronic chart records of ELC clients to monitor the following:
- delivery of medically necessary care
- delivery of quality care in a consistent and cost effective manner
- delivery of care in the least restrictive environment
- appropriate allocation of resources
- compliance with requirements of state and federal regulatory agencies and other contractors of services delivered
Provide written feedback of review to staff responsible for chart documentation
Assist in the tracking and notification of documentation deadlines associated with the UR process (i.e. treatment plan due dates, UR feedback corrections)
Assist in the tracking of trends and patterns associated with service delivery at ELC
Provide staff education and training as needed regarding proper documentation procedures.
Assist in running/analyzing data related to UR, satisfaction trends and other data to inform needed improvements
Completion of necessary QI and other documentation
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Reliable transportation and valid Kansas driver’s license
- Possesses minimum academic credentials to qualify as a Licensed Mental Health Professional in the state of Kansas
- Familiarity with mental health theory and practice
- Familiarity with diagnostic and treatment planning approaches relevant to professional discipline
- Relates positively with colleagues and representatives of other agencies
- Communicates directly and effectively in a cooperative manner
- Familiarity with basic ethical considerations in the mental health field
- Ability to conduct work duties in a culturally informed manner
- Ability to safely perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
