As a member on our Server System Validation team, drive system validation engineering efforts for next generation AMD server roadmap products. With a focus on "At-Scale", lead the effort to develop, enable and execute validation test plans, strategy, and tests for post silicon validation. Drive engineering effort and successful partnership with internal partners in Server system engineering to deliver great quality products with predictable cadence. The mission of this role is to drive excellence in validation coverage and minimize test escapes with a keen eye on automation for test execution.
As a key engineer on our team, you will work on test enabling and execution for system validation as well as analyze, configure, and propose improvement to current practices to achieve efficient validation methodology for system validation.

The role:
Direct ownership for driving AMD's Server system validation. Planning and execution of our Server Products, which are used by some of the biggest customers and partners of AMD.
You also get to interact with the senior leadership team, play a role in defining our products, and ensure that we verify using real world use cases and the latest methodologies in semiconductor validation.

The person:
As a new college graduate engineer with background in SoC/product validation, the candidate must possess exposure to Post-Silicon/Validation or debug experience and should demonstrate abilities to develop and execute end-to-end solutions to configure a fleet of "At-scale" systems for execution of large scale use cases for Server products. Knowledge on automated infrastructure usage model, development and triage/debug will be needed to make the engineer successful in this role. Understanding of OS eco-system internals like Linux/Windows/Vmware, KMD, system applications and use cases as well as benchmarking will be needed.
Key responsibilities:
Gain expertise on "At-Scale" or volume system validation to lead execution of the art validation methodology and tests to provide best in class validation coverage. Drive continuous improvements in "At-scale" system validation based on the next generation products as well as other key internal stakeholder requirements. While executing tests/test plans on AMD products, apply key learnings from previous projects.
Preferred experience:
- Prefer prior experience with: Server or PC system architecture and validation, CPU/SoC platform bring-up; OS based testing tools and environments for stress validation, hardware debugging using post-silicon tools, failure resolution and tracking. Prior experience with scripting (python) will be desired. Also, prior experience using applications like JIRA, Jenkins, Kubernetes will be preferred. Prior experience in working on large scale of systems will be a plus.
- Prefer familiarity with: Computer Architecture concepts and silicon features; popular operating Systems like Linux, Windows and Vmware. In-depth knowledge on Virtualization software (VMware, Xen, et al) will be a plus.
- Plus understanding and experience with: Working with platform firmware and services (UEFI/BIOS).
Academic credentials:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BS) or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant subject area
