By joining our Division of Motor Carriers, Licensing and Registration Branch as a Vehicle Regulation Specialist in Franklin County, you’ll have the opportunity to provide direct assistance to the general public and Department of Vehicle Regulations.
Holders of the Vehicle Regulation Specialist position will complete tasks such as:

Holders of the Vehicle Regulation Specialist position will complete tasks such as:
- Conduct advanced level verification of applications submitted for departmental credentials.
- Review applications required by federal and state laws for vehicle licensing, motor carrier taxes and credentials.
- Issue, renew, cancel, and reinstate credentials and licenses.
- Continually monitor the customer traffic to ensure effective customer service is provided in a timely manner.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Learn to research and use multiple programs and databases.
- Communication skills.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of professional administrative, business, or management experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Administrative, business, or management experience, or a related field, will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title typically perform duties in an office setting and interact with the general public, as well as county and state officials.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
