The Vice President of Customized Supports is instrumental in leading a high quality, person-centered approach to service delivery. They provide leadership and oversight to our customized options, community habilitation, fiscal intermediary and broker services (OPWDD) in the Finger Lakes Region. This role will lead the expansion of OPWDD fiscal interdmediary services beyond region one. In addition they provide leadership and oversight to our CDPAP program and Care Management through CHUNNY, both of which are through the Department of Health. Supports the mission, vision and values of Heritage Christian Services, Inc.
Responsibilities:
- To facilitate a philosophy within service delivery that supports: self-direction, community participation and contribution, productivity, full citizenship, diversity, equity and inclusion. Fosters the philosophy of self-direction through active listening and establishment of outcome based on informed choice and supportive decision making.
- Inspire, reinforce and drive the continuous development of a person-centered and quality focused culture that is reflective of the agency’s’ mission, vision and values.
- Provide direction and leadership to service teams to foster high quality, person-centered services that comply with agency policies, regulations, state and federal law.
- Contributes to the organizations strategic planning process, goals and project work. Communicates with team members to foster alignment around a shared vision and serves as an ambassador for our project work by either participating or determining designees for appropriate project work.
- Responsible for understanding current best practice in service delivery and creating an environment for innovation and creativity. Has a detailed awareness of ongoing development within service lines to position the agency to serve the needs of people choosing our service.
- Consistently challenging the status quo in service options and working to develop broader, yet customized options of support for people who choose our service.
- Responsible for assisting teams in managing financial resources, operational budgets and capital purchases
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the issues surrounding access, equity, diversity, inclusion, implicit bias and institutional racism.
- Maintains strong relationships with external partners.
- Plan and direct proactive, data driven continuous improvement plans to improve overall quality of services and care provided to person’s supported by the agency.
- Partner to create, implement and report on various operational plans and functions in collaboration with Business Intelligence and Analytics to ensure metrics, dashboards and reporting are accurate, relevant, meaningful and actionable.
- To be a champion of our Compass process. Analyze both incident and compass data and trends to identify performance initiatives that advance quality outcomes.
- To promote excellence through the implementation of effective training, coaching and performance reviews of direct reports. Provides empowered opportunities for direct reports and other key personnel to grow.
- Is a champion of a continuous learning philosophy both individually and organizationally. Serves as a role model in carrying out the agency’s employee and customer winning propositions.
- Familiar with best practice in the industry and knowledge of best practices, regulations and requirements as they relate to OPWDD Comm hab, FI & broker services and DOH CHUNNY care management and consumer directed personal attendant programs.
- Works with all leaders and staff members to ensure a person-centered culture which inspires possibility.
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred in education, human services or related field
- 7 or more years’ experience working in long term care, child care and/or with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 5 years or more experience working with OPWDD self-direction program.
- Knowledge of OPWDD and DOH strategies, regulations and compliance standards.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, a high level of emotional competence and have previous experience working independently and managing multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to establish and build effective working relationships with all colleagues, staff, customers and key stakeholders.
- Acceptance of a variety of lifestyles, behaviors, and cultural and spiritual practices. Promote diversity, equity and inclusion activities.
- Must demonstrate excellent strategic thinking, problem solving and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and follow-through required. Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Experience with data systems and data analysis in support of continuous process improvement preferred.
- A valid NYS driver’s license that complies with agency standards.
