TITLE: Virtual Academy – Online Instructor
FLSA: EXEMPT Professional
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess proper state teacher certification
Possess operational knowledge of web based technologies
Teaching experience with virtual delivery technology preferred
REPORTS TO: Virtual Director
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Teacher work calendar
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Effectively utilize selected on-line delivery technology to implement lesson objectives.
- Provide and lead in virtual based discussion chats to support students.
- Lead in the implementation of technology to support student engagement in the class.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students weekly.
- Network and support peer teachers in the implementation of virtual based learning software and technology.
- Monitor student progress in virtual curriculum.
- Meet with families and students to ensure success in the program.
- Requires flexible hours and answering student calls in evenings and/or weekends.
- Some virtual hours and some on-site hours required.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Participate in presentations about online teaching including, but not limited to, the following: presentations, research and sharing of information for professional growth, student outreach events and activities.
- Attend meetings and professional development activities as directed.
Other duties as assigned.
