We are seeking a file and discovery clerk (office specialist 2) to join our Child Welfare team in Salem.

What you need to qualify:
Two years of general clerical experience, one year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents.
OR
An associate degree.
OR
Graduation from a private school of business with a certificate AND one year of general clerical experience.
A valid driver license and acceptable driving record are necessary for this position.
Essential attributes:
We are looking for candidates with:
  • Ability to adapt communication style to the intended audience, listen intently, and speak with empathy.
  • Experience navigating Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and different basic computer software.
  • Ability to assess difficult and complex situations under pressure and make appropriate decisions.
  • Experience working successfully both with a team and independently, while managing your time efficiently.
  • Experience formulating documents or reports that include a conclusion and recommended action (examples: case plans, court reports, investigative reports).
  • Experience doing research and asking questions to understand policy and procedure.

As a visitation scheduler, you will be:
  • Coordinating the scheduling for all branch office visits.
  • Assigning social service assistants to facilitate visits.
  • Arranging the transportation for children as needed.
  • Monitoring the branch visitation line and logging all change-requests.
  • Attending meetings and completing other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Working conditions:
  • You may be required to developing competencies in various computer applications.
  • This position may require some travel to make purchases.
  • Occasional paid overtime on nights or weekends may be required.
  • You may interact with a wide range of people including some who have experienced trauma, exhibit challenges in controlling their anger, or other unexpected emotions impacted by drug use, cognitive impairments, or other factors.
