Role Overview
The Vice President of Financial Operations will oversee back-office support functions for payment processing for Planet’s acquiring business. Responsibilities for this role include daily management and support of the company’s core electronic payment, settlement and clearing processing services that are provided to many customers internationally. Team responsibilities include payments processing, reporting, accounting and controls. You will monitor work in all teams, support team members and collaborate with other managers in the Process & Administration group. You will also be a key member of the Leadership team in directing our strategic ambitions and will support improvement projects and UAT validation of these.
What you will do
- Ensure the team handle and process daily payment settlement and clearing transactions
- Manage the Safeguarding of Client Funds – i.e. ensuring correct controls/procedures in place to meet regulatory requirements
- Monitoring SLAs and any breaches
- Maintain accuracy of accounting records and controls
- Liaise closely with Finance for any queries / audits
- Prepare accounting settlement entries
- Ensure settlement policies and procedures are in place and adhered to
- Support queries related to said settlement policies and procedures
- Prepare management reporting working closely with Finance and the BI team
- Work closely with Reconciliation team, Card Schemes and other business lines to resolve any settlement related incidents and issues
- Identify automation and improvement opportunities; and work with Product & Tech and Change team to guide the implementation of improvements
- Develop procedures and controls to manage financial risks according to company´s policies and regularly review the risk register to document any new risks associated with the department
- Perform HR tasks to support team members, regular performance reviews and team member development and growth

- Demonstrate strong organisation skills, attention to detail
- Demonstrate ability to multi-task and work at a fast pace
- Experience in Card Payment processing with a thorough understanding of Authorisations, Clearing, Settlement, Disputes, Interchange/Fees and Funding
- Understanding of financial statements, accounting records, reconciliation and general ledger accounts
- Skills in Excel and reporting, including Pivot Tables, V Lookups and formulas
- Ability to analyse and summarise complex information to an Executive level audience, present and recommend improvements
- Experience managing people and processes
- Willingness to be assertive and take actions to get the job done
- Multi-lingual - English is required, other European languages (especially Polish) are desirable
