Job Description


This position is responsible for the administration and delivery of professional Human Resources services, supporting Clean Earth organization throughout the United States. This person will serve as the HR leader in development and implementation of HR services and practices to assure consistent and positive employee relations throughout the US. Additionally, this person will manage HR projects and initiatives for the Clean Earth division.

HR services include the administration of strategic initiatives, company policies, employee relations, professional and direct labor staffing / selection, retention, change management, employment law, leadership development, benefits and compensation, talent management, workforce planning, AAP/EEO, contractor management, special projects, and diversity, engagement and inclusion efforts.

  • Responsible for leading the HR team in all aspects of human resource practices and strategy, including talent management, training & development, leadership, performance management, organizational design, and succession planning.
  • Work closely with Chief Human Resources Officer and HR Leadership team to develop strategic plans for the global HR organization.
  • Operate as a strategic, HR business advisor to the Division President and senior management team, with solid business acumen, analytical skills and sound judgement to provide pragmatic commercial advice and critical thinking, challenge point-of-views when necessary and offering alternative, constructive suggestions to build talent capabilities and innovative solutions to support growth.
  • Partner with Corporate Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition and Talent Development to effectively deliver global HR initiatives.
  • Develop a comprehensive staffing strategy, from hourly roles to leadership positions, and partner with Compensation to evaluate compensation and benefits programs that attract the best talent to the organization.
  • Champion a people-first, continuous improvement culture focused on professional development and exceeding business goals.
  • Create effective onboarding processes, oversee retention efforts, and establish succession plans; ensure employees are engaged, inspired, and want to contribute to the company’s success.
  • Coach managers on leadership practices and behaviors, employee development, and performance management strategies to promote engagement and accountability.
  • Monitor performance management programs to ensure that employees' knowledge, skills, abilities, and performance align with the company’s strategic goals and objectives.
  • Develop programs, policies, and procedures to foster a culture of inclusiveness, employee engagement, and employee ownership.
  • Work with company leaders to create and sustain a positive workplace that appreciates individual differences, promotes mutual trust and respect, and balances employer/employee needs.
  • Serve as an ethical agent that cultivates an environment of trust; develop programs, practices, and policies that reflect high standards of integrity.
  • Implement local community employment branding programs to create awareness.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts within HR by focusing on best practices with appropriate documentation, interventions, and procedures.
  • Manage relationships with external partners/vendors to ensure appropriate service levels and cost effectiveness.
  • Develop, mentor, and guide the HR team to be business-oriented, proactive and results-oriented. Ensure the implementation of excellent HR services and solutions across the Clean Earth business with timely and consistent delivery. Ensure HR effectiveness and that support is allocated appropriately to meet the changing needs of the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws at the local, state, and federal levels.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or in a business discipline
  • 15+ years of HR Generalist experience including 6+ years in a management role
  • Experience supporting professional level employees in a distributed workforce

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Change management experience
  • Experience supporting sales and operations staff
  • Willingness and ability to work in a hands-on manner to execute key initiatives and activities
  • In-depth knowledge of EEO, AAP, OFCCP, OSHA, FSLA, ADA, DOT and other applicable federal and state employment laws, regulations and best practices
  • SCP, CP, or SPHR certification
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills including the ability to prepare and deliver presentations to large groups
  • Ability to lead and work through others; effective delegation skills
  • Highly proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills using Excel (macros, pivot tables, LOOKUPS, graphs, etc.), ERP (Oracle preferred), and ATS.
  • Ability to analyze, draw conclusions and develop actionable improvements from complex data
  • Ability to plan and organize; experience in formal project management ideal
  • Willingness and ability to travel via automobile, commercial airline and other public transportation up to 40% of the time.
