The Warehouse Inventory Associate is responsible for supporting Branch Operations via organizing and administering materials, inventory, records, documentation, shipping and receiving, operational reports, safety items, and via teaming with leadership in achieving expected targets for the company. This position encompasses office administration and external hands-on yard functionality.
The Nuts and Bolts
- Serve as site resource for administrative assistance, organizational aptitude, computer input/data work, technology skills, and work processing
- Operate fork lift and other equipment to maintain Yard organization and material assets
- Work independently and as teamed to ensure full accounting of assets, revenue receipts, materials
- Maintain a safe, clean, well-organized, and efficient work standard and environment on location
- Maintain well organized and categorized interior and exterior facility, including but not limited to tools, work space, inventory storage, and associated paperwork/reports
- Direct vendors onsite, shipping and receiving areas, material tracking, parts, and reporting
- Train employees on required job functions and support methods as needed
- Manage work schedule to achieve delivery requirements to both internal and external customers
- Strive for Continuous Improvement and support Company LEAN Management objectives
- Participate in and support Problem Solving techniques – Kaizen, Gemba, A3, PDCA activities
- Responsible for tracking key metrics and ensuring site records are accurately maintained/reported
- Ensure daily Lean Management Boards are current for required reporting items—as assigned
- Work closely with Branch leadership and Company management to ensure desired site operations
- Complete required reporting not limited to safety, quality, delivery, inventory, labor, and as directed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States
- Minimum of 5 years work related experience
- Maintain a valid driver’s license (required for work related functions)
- Able to work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required
- Willingness and ability to work in office, interior shop, and exterior yard environments (all seasons)
- Able to lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach, all with or without reasonable accommodation
- 2+ years Fork Lift operational experience—ability to operate full spectrum as needed
- Moderate to heavy use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint (must demonstrate ability)
- Willingness and ability to learn Company computer systems (FACS, JD Edwards, Other)
- Knowledge and experience with truck up-fitting, warehouse organization, office administration, material handling, communications, teamwork ability, independent thinking
- Able and committed to maintaining positive work ethic, attendance, professional demeanor, and interpersonal teaming as needed
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent ability to follow directions and organize task assignments as directed
