Warehouse, Logistics & Inventory Lead
Position Summary
The RCMF facility is currently undergoing construction on the Ringaskiddy API site and will be a multi-product clinical API manufacturing facility enabled for continuous processing using our FAST platforms. The design is focused on combining existing capabilities from our clinical workflows with the very best advances in technology and architecture to build a truly contemporary API clinical facility which will support the needs of our new products small molecule portfolio into the future. The RCMF is part of Chemical Research and Development (CRD), within Pharmaceutical Sciences Small Molecule (PSSM), part of the Worldwide Research, Development and Medicinal Sciences (WRDM) organisation. The RCMF will scale up new clinical products developed in our CRD laboratories at our research sites in the U.S. (Groton, Connecticut) and in the UK (Sandwich, Kent) and will tech transfer successful new products from the RCMF to our commercial manufacturing site in Ringaskiddy.
The Warehouse, Logistics and Inventory lead will be required to ensure the smooth and efficient day to day running of the warehouse and logistics operations.
The successful candidate will provide user input and direction for a wide range of business applications.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for managing warehouse personnel and activities to include receipting, sampling, storing, packaging, shipping and transporting of materials and finished goods.
  • Work with operations to forecast demand requirements for raw materials, solvents and reagents and procurement of same.
  • Ensure that all documentation issues including PO's are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for batch make up and dispensing of raw materials for operations to ensure adherence to production plan.
  • Liaise with Quality department to establish, monitor and where necessary, modify warehouse and logistics procedures to be in line with Pfizer quality standards.
  • Responsible for organisation and co-ordination of stock takes and cycle counting to ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Ensure all Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to including correct use of PPE, machinery, safe work practices, safe storage and placement of goods etc.
  • Responsible for managing warehouse & logistics personnel to ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, conduct performance reviews and participate in hiring of warehouse employees.
  • Facilitate and promote the development of individuals and team to enable them to achieve their optimum performance levels through pertinent development plans.
  • Establish and coordinate training for warehouse personnel.
  • Create and sustain an improvement culture by actively stimulating and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with on-site waste management contractor for removal of waste.
  • Responsible for managing the dangerous goods program.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria
  • It is expected that the successful candidate will be qualified to degree level and have experience in a supply chain, logistics, manufacturing or technical (process chemistry, process engineering or equivalent) role.
  • Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices particularly in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of supervisory, people management and mentoring experience.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Proactive and effective communication skills
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on your own initiative and to proactively respond to business needs.
  • Comfortable as part of a highly competent and self-motivated team and will have the ability to deal with the challenges that a facility start-up may present.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team orientation and attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to lead, challenge and positively influence in an interactive team environment.
Nice-to-Have
  • Knowledge of MRP systems a distinct advantage.
  • DGSA qualified an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided.
