The Group is structured across two divisions: Ornua Foods and Ornua Ingredients.

Ornua Foods is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands including Kerrygold, Dubliner, Pilgrims Choice, Kerrygold, Avantage, Forto, and BEO. Markets are served by production facilities and in-market sales and marketing teams in Africa, Asia, Germany, Ireland, the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East, and the US.

Ornua Ingredients is responsible for the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products and for the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers across the world. Ornua Ingredients is also responsible for managing volatility through de-risking and trading strategies. The business is supported by production facilities in Saudi Arabia, Spain, the UK, the US and by in-market teams in Africa and the Middle East.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Develop warehouse strategy incorporating warehouse capacities, resources, equipment and future plant expansion needs
Own the freight and warehousing budget/forecasting process
Develop and implement meaningful warehouse KPIs and report same each day/week at relevant meetings
Responsible for all subcontractor activities, reviewing proposals and performance specifications.
Constantly looking for improvements and projects in the Warehouse to improve quality, service and cost
Plan day-to-day schedules to ensure the accurate and efficient execution of daily/weekly orders
Manage Goods Inwards, supervise order fulfilment and goods outwards
Coordination with Logistics and Transport administration with respect to deliveries to internal/external customers
Stock control for the area including cycle counts and stock counts
Management and motivation of Warehouse staff to ensure high performance and engaged team, - including cross training, holidays schedule & management of time & attendance system.
Liaise with other departments to ensure targets and order schedules are met
Ensure compliance with EH&S & Company policies & procedures including employment legislation
Ensure that productivity targets are achieved and that all warehouse processes are running smoothly
Modify & leverage IT support systems to optimize functionality and provide accurate reporting for key stakeholders
Mentoring and coaching of staff in best warehouse practices
Build relationships with all stakeholders of the business, i.e. Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, external warehouse and third-party logistics
Ensure any issues involving plant breakdowns , stock problems or product quality are dealt with promptly.
Become a super user of the automated processes within the warehouse.

KEY REQUIRMENTS & COMPETENCIES

Ability to drive performance, seeking root cause to business problems and design and deliver practical solutions to resolve.
Proven experience in managing a FMCG warehouse.
Experience of successfully leading a warehouse team.
Possess strong leadership, communication, planning, people leadership and organising skills.
Have a thorough understanding of all aspects of warehouse management.
Demonstrate a high degree of personal integrity and professionalism.
Exposure to and knowledge of Operational Excellence techniques
Demonstrated IT skills i.e ERP systems, Microsoft office applications
Familiar with internal controls set by Finance.
Demonstrated problem solver
Experience of managing projects from beginning to completion.
Drive change through personal actions, inspiring others to do the same.
