Job Summary:
Kauai Island Utility Cooperative is seeking a highly skilled individual that receive inspect, verify, safeguard and issue all materials and equipment for the company. Perform receiving, issuance, transfers, stock level inquiry, requisitions and other related transactions in NISC and other computerized materials management system. Communicate with key customers in Operations and meet requirements to ensure system reliability. Receive future material requirements from Operations and assist Supervisor with timely reordering and replenishment of necessary items. Expedites incoming and outgoing shipments and deliveries.
This position requires the incumbent to be physically on-site.
Position Responsibilities:
- Performs duties of storing, issuing and salvage of materials, tools, equipment, spare parts and supplies for Kauai Island Utility Cooperative Operations including Production, Finance & Accounting, Member Services and all other departments of the company.
- Develop and maintain open communication with key customers in Operations in order to meet requirements to ensure system reliability. Interacts positively with vendors, customers, peers and other company personnel on a daily basis.
- Inspects all incoming shipments and deliveries for accuracy, shortages and damages. Distributes incoming material to the proper document, verifies shipments with purchase orders and prepares receiving reports.
- Reports movement of material and depletion for replenishment of supplies. Prepares requisitions for stock replenishment as well as special orders and tools.
- Maintains records as required in NISC and other computerized materials management system. Performs receiving, issues, transfers, stock level inquiry, requisitions, and other required transactions. Keeps control logs and part number system updated. Enters data, generates reports and operates computer as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Must be able to differentiate a variety of colors.
- Must have or have the ability to obtain a valid Commercial Driver’s license, Class Code B.
- Must have at least two (2) years of warehouse experience, related activities or equivalent experience in Power Plant or Transmission and Distribution materials handling.
- Demonstrated teamwork and ability to interact positively with vendors, customers, peers and other company personnel on a daily basis.
- Must be able to safely lift, carry and/or move up to 70 pounds.
