Warehouse Receiver

Avalanche Industries is currently seeking a full-time receiver. Candidate must have fork lift experience, basic computer knowledge, be able to multi-task, pay attention to detail, have knowledge of packing slips, be able to lift 50+ pounds and be able to work in all types of weather.
Position will be Monday-Friday 7 AM-3:30 PM and some weekends if needed. Willing to work overtime during peak seasons including weekend shifts. The position starts at $11.00 per hour with benefits after 60 days including health, life, dental and vision insurance and paid holidays. We also offer a bonus program based on company profits.

Warehouse Worker Job Responsibilities

• Unload pallets from trucks
• Counts and makes sure the number of units received matches with the numer of units in the packing slip
• Completes shipments by processing and loading orders.
• Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area.
• Ability to train and adapt to jobs in other shipping departments
• Prepare and complete order for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship).
• Operates and maintains preventive warehouse vehicles and equipment.
• Communicates and cooperates with supervisors and coworkers.
• Provides quality service by following organization standards.
• Preserves safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat.
• Promotes clean shipping supply area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Can be a team player and/or works well independently
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Work Hours & Benefits
Available shifts are: 7:00am-3:30pm. If we are behind our shipping schedule by up to 5 days, a mandatory extra hour is added to each shift (6:30am-4:00pm). If we are behind our shipping schedule for more than 5 days, an extra shift of 8 hours will be scheduled over the weekend. Hours worked past 40 is considered overtime and will be compensated at times and a half of regular pay rate.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Forklift Certification (If applicable)

Point System

We will use a point system as follows based upon a 40-hour work week unless there is

mandatory overtime, which will include those day(s) also when it comes to attendance:
Tardiness

• Up to 4 hours late - 1 point
• No call/No show 4 hours - 2 points
• 4 to 8 hours late - 2 points
• No call/No show 8 hours - 4 points

Points can be avoided by calling your manager and notifying them about being late or not able to come to work due to emergency, at least 30 minutes prior to your shift. Scheduling time off for personal reason or Doctor’s appointment at least 2 days prior, will not result in any points. All points earned stay with employee for a duration of 6 months. A total of 5 points at any one time will result in employee termination.Pay Raise Schedule

The position starts at $11/hour.

• If you have been employed for 30 days without getting any points and not calling out, you will be getting $12/hour.
• If you have been employed for 60 days without getting any points and not calling out, you will be getting $13/hour.
• If you have been employed for 90 days without getting any points and not calling out, you will be getting $14/hour.

Every time you incur a point, the month will start over, and you will have to wait for at least 30 days without getting any points and having no call outs, to get your next raise. Once, you reach $14/hour, all raises will be based on your future performance. Once you have reached a milestone, and if you incur a point, the pay remains the same.
Example scenario:
X has been with the company for 84 days without getting a point or having any call outs. X is now making $13/hour. On 85th day, X shows up 2 hours late, without calling the supervisor 30minutes before the shift starts and ends up incurring 2 points. If X did not incur any points, thenX was due a $1/hour raise in next 5 days, which would have been $14/hour. Now, since X got points, the next raise will not be due until 30 more days if X does not incur more points within those next 30 days period.
