POSITION: Water Engineer I

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Water Engineer in our Janesville/Madison, Wisconsin area office. We are looking for an individual who wants to be part of a team that provides exceptional service to our clients.

POSITION DUTIES:

  • Assist senior engineers with the evaluation, study and design of water systems including water supply, pumping, treatment and storage facilities, water transmission and distribution systems.
  • Field work, studies and hydraulic modeling of water systems.
  • Assist with the design and construction of sanitary and storm sewer systems, as needed.
  • Prepare project scopes and schedules, technical specifications and contract documents for bidding purposes, project reports and recommendations.
  • Day-to-day communications with our clients and project team members.
  • Work within design teams in production of construction documents and feasibility studies.
  • Attend presentations and client meetings.
  • Perform construction administration activities on our design projects.
  • Perform resident project representative activities on our design projects and developers’ projects.
  • Be active in various public infrastructure professional organizations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to provide own means of reliable transportation for occasional day trips.
  • Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections/visits, etc.; occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Must be able to carry up to 40 pounds and work in conditions that feature rough terrain.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training in the State of Wisconsin or the ability to obtain registration within six months of employment.
