Position Description
Responsible for creating webpage layouts, writing code, editing website content, and making adjustments based on client feedback.
Major/Essential Functions
As a Web Developer you will program, test, implement, and maintain web projects for the Texas Tech Office of Communications and Marketing. These projects consist of, but are not limited to, the Texas Tech Online, TTU K-12 and other web properties managed by the Office of the Provost. Project development includes coordination with designers, managers, and other developers and IT support personnel. You will research, program, document, and modify web projects throughout their life cycle.
Complete web development tasks as assigned.
Perform web projects quality assurance and support.
Ensure projects utilize branding guidelines.
Actively participate in meetings including brainstorming sessions, creative discussions, and team communications.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Training in programming through education/experience.
Proficiency with HTML5/CSS3, PHP, SCSS, JavaScript, and JQuery.
Understanding of programming languages, syntax structures, and data management techniques.
Analytical problem solving, process description, and problem diagnostics and solving.
Experience in front-end web development.
Experience in responsive web development.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience translating web designs to working web projects.
Experience working with Web Content Management Systems.
Experience working with accessibility standards in web development.
Experience with git version control system.
Plan and organize effectively, prioritize goals, use time efficiently, stay on task, meet deadlines.
Deliver clear written and verbal communications to aid in team communications, problem solving, programming, and documentation.
Establish and maintain effective work relationships.
Innovative approach to web development.
