Arclight Custom Welding is a small custom fabrication business located in Menomonie, WI. We are a custom build shop that focuses on high quality work in everything we do. We work on a wide variety of projects including steel, stainless steel and aluminum, and an eye for detail is needed. Arclight's focus is on quality over quantity in the projects that our customers trust us to do. We are a small, but growing business with lots of opportunity to grow with us and learn new things. Job brief

Arclight Custom Welding is looking for a skilled welder/fabricator with 2+ years of experience. We are currently in need of someone available for a minimum of 30 hours per week, and offer a flexible schedule that lets you set your hours, work 3 12 hour days, 4-10's or 5-8's. Arclight is seeking a well versed professional, proficient in MIG welding steel, experience in MIG and TIG welding aluminum is a big plus, along with TIG welding stainless.

Applicants must be self sufficient and able to work independently and with others. Work will include running equipment ranging from cold cut saws, grinders, drill press, CNC plasma table, MIG and TIG welding, on various materials including, steel, stainless steel and aluminum. Applicants must be able to read a tape measure proficiently and be able to build simple components from start to finish. Starting pay based on skill level, ranging from $18-23/hour, the right individual has potential to earn over that within the first year, along with bonus potential every quarter, we are not afraid to pay a worthy employee. Arclight is in need of someone dependable, independent, quality oriented, hard working and dedicated. We would like to have someone who is looking for long term gainful employment.

Arclight Custom Welding does a wide scope of work, including custom CNC plasma cutting, contract work, structural welding, and miscellaneous projects from hand rails, to repair work, aluminum and stainless to steel and a little bit of cast iron. We are willing to train as needed to fill any gaps in experience. Applicants must be able to take constructive criticism when needed. Hours can be semi flexible to suit needs with enough heads up, this is not a free pass to show up late.

Responsibilities

• Applicants must be competent in using welding equipment following safety precautions. The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of MIG and (some) TIG welding and the entire fabrication process is a must. Reading blueprints and drawings and taking measurements to plan layout and procedures

• Go to and from job sites as needed, most days are at the shop but some jobs require on site work

• Read blueprints and drawings and plan layout and procedures

• Operate angle grinders to prep and finish weldments as needed

• Inspect welded surfaces and structure

Requirements

• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MIG etc.)

• Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)

• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, safety glasses, gloves etc.)

• Deftness and attention to detail

• Dependability

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
