SUMMARY

We are looking for a Quality Manager to help make our vision come true.

The Quality Manager is responsible for maintaining compliance under the ASME & AWS standards/ codes in addition to maintaining the Company’s Quality Management System. The position will be working out of the M&M Carnot plant located in Federalsburg, MD.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Working knowledge of ASME Pressure Vessel Code procedures and welder qualification requirements

- Experience with TIG, MIG and other welding processes

- Ability to direct, and demonstrate, if necessary, fundamentally sound welding practices, including join preparation and cleaning, shielding gas selection and application, welding parameters, and machine settings.

- Develop and evaluate new products, processes, and applications

- Project management for assigned projects

- Manage the quality system development, implementation, and maintenance. Ensure that procedures and welders are appropriately qualified for the work performed and maintain welding process and welder qualification records. (Document Control)

- Maintain company Quality Manual

- Evaluate and nonconforming material; and develop and implement effective corrective action.

- Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with established procedures.

- Coordinates visual inspections to ensure workers’ compliance with established welding procedures, restrictions, and standards, in testing welds for conformance with national code requirements or testing welding personnel for certification.

- Performs experimental welding to evaluate new equipment, techniques, and materials.

- Facilitate transition of new products and processes from development into production

- Knowledge of ASME material standards. Computer literate with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. CAD skill very beneficial.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy or Engineering a plus

- Three (3) – Five (5) years welding experience

- One (1) – Two (2) years engineering experience

- One (1) – Two (2) years QA experience

PREFERRED SKILLS

- Certified Individual status

- Experience managing quality systems

- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the production staff.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to assist in creating and executing continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $72,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
