Job Description


Longbridge is currently recruiting for a Underwriting Manager to lead our Wholesale Sale Division. This is a remote position reporting to the Director of Underwriting.

Responsibilities:

The Underwriting Manager will manage and lead a group of underwriters; also provides credit decisions and recommendations for complex cases. Reviews and develops all aspects of underwriting guidelines to ensure compliance with FHA, Proprietary loan programs, federal, and state regulations. Monitors processes and systems to ensure working at maximum capacity.

Job Duties:

  • Manage a team of Underwriters that underwrite for our Wholesale channel
  • Provide credit decisions and recommendations for complex situations
  • Leads and directs the work of their team of underwriters
  • Review and develop underwriting guidelines to ensure compliance
  • Hire and train new underwriters to the team
  • Interacts and collaborate with Other Department Managers
  • Attend scheduled Operational and daily Round Table meetings
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations including but not limited to band secrecy, anti-money laundering laws, fair lending, HMDA, ECOA, Reg Z.


Qualifications


Required Experience:

  • 7 years’ proven experience in an Underwriting Team structure
  • Knowledge of Wholesale mortgage business channel
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan, accomplish goals, and performs a variety of tasks.
  • Extensive knowledge of FHA HECM, and Proprietary loan programs.
  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret procedures, manuals, policies, and regulations.
  • Above average oral and written communication skills.
  • Above average customer service, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to Coach, Mentor, and Train employees to improve Underwriting Acumen, Skill Sets and Decision making.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of PC applications (Word, Excel, MS Outlook)
