Job Summary:

The WIDA Educator Outreach Specialist position is located within the Communications and Marketing department and will report to the Assistant Director of Customer Service. Educator Outreach Specialists are responsible for supporting educators of multilingual learners through a variety of products and services related to our Standards and Assessments. This position is also responsible for the development and delivery of technical assistance to educators from WIDA Consortium member states in the form of answering questions about test administration, training course accounts, and the WIDA standards for use in instruction.

Working fully remote is an option for this position within the United States (working remotely internationally is not an option). Responsibilities:
Serves as a point of contact for current and potential customers to address and resolve issues, provides information, and processes transactions in accordance with institutional policy. May coordinate work and train staff and student employees.
  • 55% Provides exceptional service, answers questions, or provides information in a specific subject area to (internal, external) (customers, donors, stakeholders) based on set material or standards
  • 15% Troubleshoots and resolves issues in a timely and professional manner
  • 5% Organizes, distributes, and maintains relevant work unit procedures, polices, and updates to ensure accuracy and relevancy of delivered information
  • 5% Monitors and maintains work areas and supplies to meet customer and operational needs
  • 5% Guides and trains staff and student workers
  • 5% Process customer transactions following established departmental policies and procedures
  • 5% Identifies, troubleshoots, resolves and/or escalates more complex first and second level technical problems for various products and services
  • 5% Support projects outside of department

Education:

Required
Bachelor's Degree



Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience. This could include providing service in a contact center or similar setting, experience answering high volumes of phone calls and/or emails, or professional experience working with multiple external stakeholders.
- Experience working with Pre-K-12 educators as a teacher, support services specialist, or administrator.
  • Familiarity with WIDA tools and assessments. Practical experience administering WIDA assessments a plus.
  • Proficient with computer applications including Windows-based computing systems and Microsoft Office products.
  • Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated history of strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and to exercise initiative, self-motivation, independent judgement, and action.
  • Experience navigating a web-mediated environment to identify appropriate resources.
  • A value of promoting and fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • A willingness to engage in and deepen knowledge of WIDA's Social Justice value.
  • Multilingual or bilingual/biliterate in Spanish a plus.


Work Schedule:

Must be available during WIDA core hours, which are Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm CST. Remaining hours must be scheduled around these hours (night and weekend work is not available or expected).

It is anticipated this position will be remote and requires work be performed at an offsite, non-campus work location.
