Job Details: Women’s Gymnastics Team Coach
(Optional Level 7/8/9/10 Team Coach)
- Part time (and Full Time possibilities).
- Hours per week: 20-25 (with full time hours as a possibility if wanted).
- Typical hours of work: 3pm-8pm Weeknights & Saturday mornings, plus meet weekends (local and traveling).
- 18 months is the coaching commitment minimum for any DP position.
Job Education & Experience Requirements:
- Two years coaching experience in compulsory and/or optional level gymnastics required.
- Minimum of one year experience as a primary/ head coach for a competitive gymnastics team.
- USA Gymnastics Professional Membership required (P509 pays for renewals if hired for position).
- Ability to co-coach with another compulsory coach and/or an optional level coach if that is the best fit for the team. Ability to coach solo as well. Event coaching can be discussed. There is a possibility for higher level coaching as well.
- Must have excellent spotting, shaping and teaching skills for compulsory and/or optional levels, with the willingness to learn new spotting techniques. Willingness to learn and adjust to Development Program Coaching techniques as the program evolves and as the gym see's fit.
Job Expectations, Duties, & Responsibilities:
- Must have strengths in organization, planning, and communication.
- Must be highly organized and efficient in handling large number of athletes and space.
- Ability to handle customers and families in a positive manner, and difficult customers with a productive, non-confrontational style.
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents, directors, gym managers, rec coaches, and other gym employees. This includes attending quarterly and yearly staff meetings. This also includes conducting pre-season and post-season meetings with parents.
- Ability to demonstrate safe and confident decisions as a coach. You will be an intricate part of our Team Coaching program. Leading by example is necessary at all times!
- Ability to lead, be led, and train other coaches. You must be a team player and be able to give and receive feedback proactively.
- Ability to adapt, to include doing what's best for the gym in changing situations, as the gym grows.
- Willingness to help the company build a reputation of high quality.
Job Compensation:
- $17.50 - $20.00 per hour, may increase with experience and education.

- A background check will be conducted.
- Coaching commitment agreement will be required to be signed at the time of hire.
- It is important to the DP Director that the applicant understands Region 3 standards and has strong experience in coaching (this is not an entry level position).
