Job description
- 7+ years of experience in senior technical leader positions within the Travel & Hospitality industry. (Airline, Airport, Casino, Cruise, Ground Transportation, Hotel, Restaurants, and Travel Related Services)
- Technical knowledge of enterprise IT including: event-driven architectures, database systems, data lake and ML/AI analytics systems, tiered storage architectures, server and desktop virtualization, data center operations, network security, etc. with ability to go deep on technical aspects to understand current and future customer needs and present AWS technical benefits.
- Technical knowledge of Travel & Hospitality industry applications, platforms, and data ecosystems, such as: Central Reservation Systems (CRS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Loyalty Management Systems (LMS), Passenger Service Systems (PSS), Point of Sale (POS) systems, and Property Management Systems (PMS).

Key job responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include helping articulate the solution strategy and roadmap for AWS in the Travel & Hospitality industry, identifying and engaging key strategic integration and solutions partners, and driving the technical relationships with industry thought leaders and customers to create significant new opportunity pipelines. Your work will help customers enhance their guest/traveler experience and make their operations more efficient. You will help them use AWS services to improve capabilities including: Retailing & Personalization, Connected Experiences, Customer Service, and Core Operations. You will enable the AWS sales teams to more effectively drive their day-to-day interactions with key prospects. You will work closely with AWS Solutions Architects and AWS Professional Services teams to develop and promote cloud best-practices, including data security and regulatory compliance. You will also work closely with the AWS product and services teams to help evolve AWS offerings for more rapid adoption in the Travel & Hospitality industry.
A day in the life
The ideal candidate will possess a technical background that enables them to drive engagement and interact at the highest levels of Travel & Hospitality companies, as well as having the presence to easily communicate the benefits of cloud computing to a variety of Travel & Hospitality technical and business audiences. The ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and long-term about the needs of global businesses, and be deeply familiar with complex, legacy IT environments including applications, middleware, storage, networks, information security, and operations. Your understanding of the broad Travel & Hospitality industry ecosystems makes you stand out from your industry peers. This is a hands-on role, where a keen sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness is a must.

- Technical Computer Science background, and/or Engineering/Math background
- AWS SA Professional Certification
- International Travel & Hospitality experience and knowledge
- Verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as leadership skills.
- Passion for cloud technologies; understanding of public and hybrid cloud platforms
- Business and financial acumen and negotiation skills
- Communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple teams
- Experience of selling or buying enterprise solutions.
- Ability to mentor, coach, and develop emerging technical resources.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $146,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $284,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
