Youth Art Educator
Job description
Position Summary: The Youth Art Educator will assist in developing in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression in visual terms that align with the education goals of Pablo Center. Youth Art Educators research, create, and teach fun and relevant art projects.
This position is Part Time, approximately 15-20 hours per week. Starting wage: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Research and create project plans.
2. Set up, supervise, teach, and tear down a mobile classroom that is sometimes offsite and sometimes in an outdoor setting.
3. Assist with art workshops.
4. Assist with the planning and implementation of visual arts events.
5. Assist with load in/load out of Pablo Center art exhibitions.
6. Assist in STEAM Education activities.
7. Other duties as needed.
Work Relationships and Scope:
Reports directly to the visual Arts Assistant and Youth Art Educator Lead.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required:
1. Must be at least 18 years old.
2. Ability to transport supplies: must have a current, state issued driver’s license.
3. Experience working with art materials.
4. Willingness to learn through hands-on experience.
5. Must be able to carry 50 pounds and team lift objects.
6. Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite.
7. Follow direction and accept feedback from supervisors and peers.
8. Must have a strong sense of professional courtesy and customer service.
9. Able to work independently.
10. Must be flexible, patient, and able to communicate at a high level both written and verbally.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a classroom environment at Pablo Center, off site, and in outdoor settings in the summer. Regular work hours are normally 15-20 hours per week and regular scheduled evening and weekend work will be required.
Pablo Center staff are required to work collaboratively for extended periods in close proximity, distances under 5’ (five feet) with Artists, Patrons, Students, Community Members, Board Members and Pablo Center Staff.
