Hanover Township Youth and Family Services is currently accepting applications for two Youth Program Assistants. The Department is seeking highly motivated and creative individuals to assist with after school programs, which serve youth ages 5-18 throughout the Hanover Township area. Hanover Township’s Open Gym program is a combination of recreational, educational and social activities that takes place in safe, supervised school and park district facilities. The candidates will help develop, supervise and grow our teen-specific programs and activities for Hanover Township’s Youth Center which is located in Elgin, Illinois. The individuals will also be part of the quarterly evening teen-specific recreational and sports programs that include a partnership with surrounding park districts. Candidates will assist in positive youth development and prevention services, including mentoring, youth leadership, recreational activities and homework assistance. Candidates must have the ability to interface effectively with diverse populations of youth, have a strong sense of self, self-awareness and confidence. This position requires high energy and a friendly demeanor, while keeping youth safe and involved in programming. Must be 16 years of age or older.

This non-exempt position is scheduled for approximately 20 hours per week (M-F 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM) with a pay rate of $14.00 per hour. In addition to compensation, part-time employees are eligible to receive pro-rated holiday pay, access to Hanover Township’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP), as well as training provided by Hanover Township.
