CVSD seeks two (2) full time, energetic behavior interventionist paraeducators to join the CVSD Intensive Support Team (ATLAS). ATLAS is a district-wide program serving students with significant social-emotional and behavioral needs. We are looking to add members to our cohort of highly skilled, caring individuals with specific knowledge and expertise in the area of social-emotional learning and behavior. ATLAS Behavior Interventionists will provide 1:1 behavioral support and programming for individual and/or small groups of students with significant needs (including students with severe emotional disabilities). As a member of ATLAS, you will have access to high quality professional learning opportunities through a week-long summer institute and weekly program meetings throughout the school year.
Candidates will work under the supervision of a professional to:
- Direct, adjust or develop elements of student instructional and behavioral plans
- Foster independence so that students can fully participate in school activities
- Collect, maintain, and interpret data
- Assist students physically as required and defined in student plans; this can include restrictive behavior interventions in accordance with established protocols.
- Integrate instructional, behavioral and communication interventions into the classroom
- Participate in student team meetings with other professional staff
Ideal candidates will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, an understanding of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and demonstrate the ability to build relationships and rapport with students and school teams. This is a great opportunity to work in one of the largest school districts in Vermont and become confident in the field of behavioral programming and therapeutic support within a school setting. Pay rate for this position is $24.80 to $26.5
- per hour depending upon education and experience.
Bachelor’s degree in education or other appropriate discipline is preferred. Position may include supporting students on the bus to and from school.
