Job description
PRIMARY DUTY: To audit accounts receivable clerks' daily transactions, maintain various bookkeeping spreadsheets, and perform daily banking functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Process and audit all departmental transactions and deposits daily, ensuring accuracy
- Compile reports of all departmental transactions for general ledger and bank balancing
- Maintain numerous spreadsheets for control
- Investigate and resolve irregularities to incoming payments
- Work collaboratively with Accounts Payable to ensure accuracy in University finances
- Conduct daily banking activity including ensuring deposits are received and deposited correctly and timely
- Reconcile alternative loans with financial aid weekly
- Assist with the transmission of files for the Missouri Debt Offset Program
- Process third-party payments in collaboration with the Collections and Billing Coordinator and Financial Assistance
- Responsible for the oversight and collection of concessions monies for sporting events and individual/department cash advances
- Oversee, balance and maintain the University’s cash fund
- Assess fees to accounts including course materials charges and collection costs
- Address customer inquiries via phone, mail and email while providing quality and engaging customer service to all University stakeholders
- Serve as backup for front line staff in the Cashiering Office to include processing payments, answering phones, issuing parking permits, and other duties as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned

EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS USED: Personal computer with appropriate software applications, multi-line telephone, copy machine, fax machine, credit card terminal, and other office equipment.
