We are looking for a talented new Acoustic Development Engineer to join our team! You will be responsible for the acoustic design of future generations of ultrasound transducer products and the in‐ terface to the ultrasound imaging system.
Responsibilities will include:
- Working with development teams to design ultra‐ sound transducer arrays that meet imaging objectives
- Performing finite element modeling to guide design and optimize performance
- Define specifications and establish tolerances for new transducers Guiding development of new transducer materials and defining aspects that are critical to quality
- Developing test methods and designing experiments that further advance ultrasound knowledge
- Assisting production engineers solve problems and sustain excellent transducer performance
You will be working in the Ultrasound Transducer R&D organiza‐ tion within Philips Healthcare in Reedsville, PA. The transducer R&D team is a multi-site organization that works globally with Philips and suppliers to advance the state of the art in Transducer design and performance. We have a strong commitment to our customers, to innovation, and to quality.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following
- BS in Engineering with a concentration in Acoustics Experience designing ultrasound transducer arrays
- 3+ years of experience designing ultrasound transducers
- Experience using finite element methods for trans‐ ducer design (preferably with PZFlex)
- Experience working in transducer design teams Experience in developing acoustic materials
- Experience in testing transducers and interpreting test results
- Experience with lab electronics and design of experiments
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Experience in medical ultrasound and diagnostic imaging preferred
- Experience in developing manufacturing processes preferred
- Experience with CMUT technology preferred
- Experience with signal processing and statistics preferred
