Bach to Rock in Houston, TX provides music lessons for students of all ages and skill levels living in Memorial & The Villages. Instruments we teach include guitar, piano, drums, voice, DJ, violin, trumpet & more! We are also the home of Beat Refinery DJ School which offers Mixing, Scratching and Music Production classes. B2R birthday parties and seasonal camps are great opportunities to play & learn music with your friends and make new ones! We also have early childhood classes for toddlers and preschoolers. Take your skills to the next level in a Glee Club or Rock Band. B2R offers opportunities for students to perform in venues around Memorial and Houston.
Bach To Rock (“B2R”) - America’s Music School for students of all ages is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant to work as a part-time employee responsible for supporting successful music school operations. Preference is for someone that enjoys working with clients, achieving excellent customer service, enthusiastically explaining our programs to prospects, collecting payment, and managing schedules. The Administrative Assistant will provide front desk support for the B2R management team as well as a team of music teachers.
Bach to Rock offers the opportunity to work in a fun yet professional environment with musicians. The B2R management team handles marketing, scheduling, booking, billing and other business aspects of delivering private and group lessons. The B2R administrative team ensures that teachers are provided support, curriculum, equipment and space so they have everything they need to deliver successful and effective instruction.
Position Purpose
To greet clients, answer phone calls and provide general administrative support to the Bach to Rock (B2R) management team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Other duties may be assigned based on interest and skillset.
- To greet customers (parents and clients) and prospective customers in a polite and courteous manner
- To manage (respond and initiate) internal and external phone calls and email communication
- To maintain the school schedule in coordination with the Director and Assistant Director (i.e. B2R management staff)
- To assist B2R management in the active recruitment and registration of new students, which may include leading facility tours
- To assist B2R management in customer service calls to aid in client retention
- To assist with entering registration and payment information into the B2R contact manager software
- Depending on skills and interest levels, create social media contact for distribution on social media platforms and or newsletters.

- Ability to interact effectively with the public
- Ability to operate basic office equipment (eg: telephones, printers, scanners and computers)
- Ability to be physically present at the facility during its hours of operation
- Rudimentary knowledge of music and music education
- Basic understanding of social media platforms is a plus
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with B2R staff and management
- Adaptable to changes in the workplace
- Ability to pass a background check
Education, Work Experience and/or Licensure
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Working knowledge of Zoom
Language Skills
- Must be proficient English speaking and writing skills
- Additional language(s) are a plus
Physical Demands
