Alabama Forward is seeking a full-time Administrative Coordinator
To begin immediately. Candidates must be based in Alabama, preferably in Montgomery. We encourage applications from people with a wide range of career backgrounds, including business administration, executive administration, and development/fundraising.

Role and Responsibilities
Alabama Forward has a robust need and opportunity for a passionate administrative professional to support internal operations of the organization and increase overall staff capacity and productivity.

Reporting to and in partnership with the Executive Director, Deputy Director, Development Director, and Table Leadership Team, the Administrative Coordinator will support internal operations of the organization by managing administrative tasks primarily related to executive support, fundraising and development, and financial systems management.

The work of defending and expanding democracy in the South has long been overlooked - we are seeking a passionate individual to help expand Alabama Forward’s capacity to support the Table network in continuing this work and increasing the combined impact of these efforts.

Principal Responsibilities for the Administrative Coordinator include:

Administrative Support
● Provides executive assistant-level support to the Executive Director
● Manages Table office and coworking spaces
● Monitors Table post office box
● Manages and routes correspondence received via Info and program-specific email accounts
● Manages Table's financial processes (accounting, bookkeeping, managing relationship with CPA vendor with Deputy Director)
● Provides financial reporting support to Development Director
● Develops financial reports for Board meetings and annual report
● Manages vendor relationships and accounts
● Maintain financial operational integrity

● Manage ongoing financial operations
● Maintains events calendar on Shake the Field website

Development Support
● Supports funding research efforts and the development of all grant proposals, reports and check-ins
● Provides administrative support to Development Director as needed

Qualifications
● A commitment to racial and gender equity and a passion for protecting and expanding democracy across the state of Alabama
● Energy for managing the administrative functions of a new and growing organization, in support of our 10, 30 and 50 year vision
● Experience building and maintaining meaningful relationships
● Strong written and oral communication skills
● Minimum 3-5 years progressively responsible experience in administrative management
● Minimum 2-3 years experience with nonprofit development activities, such as grants management and other fundraising efforts
● Experience in communications across varied audiences, including donors, advocates, and diverse communities (particularly in communities of color), preferred
● Flexibility in managing multiple activities to get the job done - we are a small team with audacious goals

Compensation
● Compensation will be $55,000-$60,000 and includes a full benefits package.
