MajorDuties
As an Administrative Support Specialist you will: Provide the full range of administrative services in response to the specific needs of the organization. Assist program officials in defining the level and kinds of services needed to carry out assigned responsibilities and to accomplish project objectives. Develop and apply methods and procedures designed to provide administrative services to the serviced organization in the most effective manner possible. Manage administrative requirements for supplies, property and office moves. Provide general administrative support related to office supplies, office property, or office moves. Coordinate office moves, office construction and other facility improvements, including furniture, equipment, telephones, and short-term storage. Supervise property management. Prepare necessary documents to accession and de-accession property. Conduct periodic surveys of equipment and property utilization and recommends action as necessary to assure that economical and efficient use is made of equipment and other property. process time and attendance, training requests, onboarding all employees to include mandatory trainings, obtaining ID badges and cardkeys. Complete all travel arrangements for staff members, including making necessary reservations and obtaining tickets prior to departure. Using CDC's automated travel system is responsible for preparing travel orders, requests for travel authorization, and travel vouchers. Ensure that regulations related to reimbursable, in-kind and foreign travel by CIO staff are applied appropriately. Maintain liaison within and outside the organization to keep abreast of changes in administrative procedures, provide comment on proposed changes in administrative policies and procedures, exchange views on important administrative issues, and receive guidance in addressing complex problems. This position is located in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of the Chief Operating Office (OCOO), Office of Safety, Security and Asset Management (OSSAM), Asset Management Services Office (AMSO), Engineering, Maintenance, Operations and Services Office (EMOSO), Atlanta, Georgia. The incumbent shall be responsible for a variety of duties as outlined below.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level of in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience performing administrative work that includes purchasing, property management, travel management and timekeeping using CDC administrative systems (ie, CCPS, TASNET, People Processing, etc.). OR Have earned a master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR A combination of experience and education that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. Documenting Experience: In accordance with Office of Personnel Management policy, federal employees are assumed to have gained experience by performing duties and responsibilities appropriate for their official series and grade level as described in their position description. Experience that would not normally be part of the employee's position is creditable, however, when documented by satisfactory evidence, such as a signed memorandum from the employee's supervisor or an SF-50 or SF-52 documenting an official detail or other official assignment.
